We are so pleased to announce that on Friday night at our holiday celebration we were able to honor one of our employees with the Robert M. Weigand award. Since he started in 2002 as a carpenter, and grown with us as a company into his position now as the Director of Field Operations, he has shown through and through that he embodies what the Weigand values are all about.

We are humbled to share that our CEO Larry Weigand was honored with the “Man of the Year” award from Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne for his contributions to the community at their annual Passport to Manhood Breakfast this morning. With over 500 people in attendance at the Parkview Mirro Center, he was able to participate in the ceremony honoring Nataveon Jones, Savion Thomas, Michael Taylor, and Chris Wallace. These young men received awards for their exceptional attitudes and efforts on their journey to manhood. Congratulations gentlemen!

This morning we had the pleasure of being a part of the groundbreaking ceremony for the 27,000 square foot Dr. Susan Bardwell Aquatics Center in Plymouth, Indiana. This state of the art facility will include 11 competitive swim lanes, 2 diving areas and a 500 seat capacity for spectators as well as locker rooms, meeting rooms, and concessions among other amenities. This project is set to open in the summer of 2019. Congratulations Marshall county!
It was a beautiful day for a dedication at Van Wert Health North! We cut the ribbon today at their new 19,000 square foot outpatient facility which includes an open MRI, CT scan, x-ray and a walk in clinic among other convenient accommodations. We wish them well as they start taking patients at the end of this month. ?

Sunny days are for ceremonies! This afternoon we broke ground at Defiance College where the renovations and expansion of their athletic facilities will be taking place this spring. Additional locker rooms and upgrades to the existing facilities will give them a competitive edge for future student athletes as well as taking care of their current basketball, volleyball and football programs.
What’s the latest downtown Fort Wayne news? Yesterday we had the pleasure of announcing that First Merchants Bank will be occupying the entire second floor of the new Skyline Tower with their regional headquarters. Scheduled to open this summer, along with Ruth’s Chris Steak House and 124 new apartments upstairs, this exciting development is just another addition to the downtown momentum in the heart of our city.
Big things are happening at Sweetwater Sound with Purdue Fort Wayne! Today the plans were unveiled for a beautiful new studio building for the music technology program located on Sweetwater’s campus. This project should be completed and ready to begin classes in the fall of 2018.
