On Friday, August 28th, Fairfield Community Schools dedicated its newly reconstructed track and field before cheering on the football team in its home opener. Students, families, and project partners gathered at Falcon Stadium to celebrate the completed facility.
“Tonight is much more than dedicating a new track and football field, it is about celebrating who we are as a community, what we believe our students deserve, and the future we continue to build together here at Fairfield.”
Serving Students
These improvements to Falcon Stadium represent a significant milestone for students participating in track and field, band, and football, with many expressing both excitement and gratitude for the upgraded facilities.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity and that our admin would want to make that place for us. It’s going to be so much safer and just a better place to practice on.”
Students and families got their first experience in the newly remodeled stadium later that evening as the football team played its first home game of the season, earning a win against John Glenn High School.
A Family Affair
For members of our team who reside in the area, this project hit close to home. For RJ Eck, the Superintendent who managed day-to-day jobsite operations throughout construction, it was an especially meaningful project to be part of.
“As a Fairfield parent and proud husband of a teacher in this district, serving as Superintendent on this project was especially meaningful to me. I get to experience firsthand the tangible impact this new track and field will have on our athletes and families. Having the opportunity to help build something that our students and the greater community will use and enjoy has been very special to me.”
It was rewarding to see students competing on the field, friends and families filling the stands, and to reflect on the memories and opportunities that will be created here in the years ahead. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Fairfield Community Schools and Garmann Miller in transforming Falcon Stadium for new generations of athletes, their families, and the greater community.
