Parkview Health and Weigand Construction have enjoyed a longstanding relationship, furthered by Weigand’s selection as a lead contractor for the creation of Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC), a 1,000,000sf, 115-acre campus on the north side of Fort Wayne, IN. Completed in 2012, the heart of the medical complex is the nine-story tower known as Parkview Regional Medical Center.

The focus of this 446-bed hospital facility is emergency, acute and critical care services. Additional services are also available to support inpatient care, such as imaging, pharmacy, laboratory and more. Weigand also constructed many of the outpatient specialty centers and medical office buildings located on the PRMC campus.

Parkview Cancer Institute

The Parkview Cancer Institute is one of the specialty centers featured on the Parkview Regional Medical Center campus.  Completed in 2018, this 181,000sf state-of-the-art, patient-centered cancer facility offers a comprehensive array of cancer services, all under one roof.

The building’s innovative design brings together the best ideas and technology from the nation’s leading cancer centers.  A favorite feature is the “care pods,” which are exam and consultation spaces designed to keep a patient in one location with all related specialists coming to them – in one appointment, and in one room.

Parkview Education Center

Off  of the PRMC campus, the Parkview Education Center is a unique collaboration between Fort Wayne Community Schools, Ivy Tech Community College and Parkview Health.  These three community organizations had a vision to create an innovative learning experience for health science students by exposing them to specialized professional healthcare training.

Weigand performed a complete interior renovation, inclusive of building systems, of this 90,000sf facility previously occupied by a high-security aerospace company. Classroom spaces featured in the Education Center include dental, nursing, and phlebotomy labs, auditorium space, study areas and many traditional classrooms, each with the latest technology.
