Business Units

This growing industry is responsible for the majority of our work and includes hospitals, medical office buildings, retirement facilities and recreation/fitness centers. Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Parkview Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, and YMCA of Great Fort Wayne represent a fraction of our clients. Most of our Project Managers and Superintendents have received specialty training to work in medical environments and are ASHE (American Society of Healthcare Engineers) certified.

This unit focuses primarily on universities and private primary education. Schools, like healthcare, are constantly in need of updating and expanding to meet community needs. This work is typically fast track to accommodate time constraints affiliated with schools years and class schedules. Ball State University, Purdue University, Indiana Wesleyan University and Canterbury Schools are a few of our clients.

This unit consists of several different markets including retail stores, theatres, warehouses, production facilities, utility plants, parking garages, hotels, churches, office buildings etc. Weigand has a wide range of experience from which to pull for just about any type of project. Each project has its own unique features and specifications, which we add to a database of information. Some of our clients include City of Fort Wayne, Steel Dynamics, Trane, Central Mutual Insurance, and Rave Theatres.

This unit specializes in smaller projects, design/build, and maintenance type work. No job is too big or too small for Weigand. We are just as happy to hear from customers who need a truck dock added on to their building or repairs made due to storm damage, as we are to hear from clients who want a new 25,000 square foot facility built. Examples of clients include Raytheon, Rice Toyota, Fifth Third Bank, and General Mills.

Weigand Construction saw a need to have its own Masonry Department and workforce several years ago. A lot of our projects involve large masonry scopes of work and using our own forces allows us to better control the quality and schedule. We recently added restoration services, which is a somewhat specialized area of work with a small number of contractors performing it. Our masonry department frequently bids or negotiates jobs on their own, where Weigand is not involved with the project from a general contracting standpoint. A few of their clients include Ivy Tech Community College, Manchester College, Holiday Inn, and Apostolic Christian Church of Bluffton.
